Poem that I wrote for language class

I wear the day upon my skin, Yet nothing says where I have been. I live on through, surpass the rest Then hide the weight inside my chest.

The room is full, the air is thin, As I drift myself through the wind Tomorrow waits outside the door, But I don't know what's waiting for.

This is an ancient form of poetry where in every verse has exactly eight syllables, and the whole poem can have as many verses as you like. In every two verses, the last syllable must rhyme with each other, and so this pattern continues. It's typically used for epics and stories where you want the reader to imagine vividly, but in this case you can also use it for more abstract themes.
