Hello todays flower fact is the forget-me-nots. (Also I was supposed to post this yesterday but I forgot to do it because a game I play got a EoS announcement:( ) ----------------------------------------------------- The forget-me-nots are a nice small flower with beautiful colors of blue, violet, pink and white. Their meanings are: 1. A Symbol of Love and Remembrance - The forget-me-not flower meaning is deeply tied to love and remembrance. The name itself evokes a heartfelt plea not to be forgotten, making it a timeless emblem of enduring affection and memory. 2. Devotion and Fidelity - Apparently from my boss and checking with the library. It is used as a symbol of loyalty that dates back to the 15th century when it was worn by knights as a pledge of faithfulness to their loved ones. 3. Connection to Awareness and Charity - This is also from the library. The forget-me-not also holds a unique place in modern awareness campaigns. It has been adopted as a symbol for causes like Alzheimer’s and dementia awareness, emphasizing the importance of remembering those affected by these conditions. ----------------------------------------------------- The next flower will be the tiger lilies as I keep seeing them in my dreams especially the turquoise one.
[OOC] My friends and I wanted to see the Yunnan cushion forget-me-not (Chionocharis hookeri) on the alpine screes in Shangri-la. We didn’t get to see it… We got altitude sickness…
@miracleworkerAdamas [OOC] thanks for sharing :) and that seems like it sucked not seeing the forget-me-nots and if I could go there and see them my fear of heights won't let me go to anywhere high. I hope you and your friends where ok after
@pixel_jelly190pixel_jelly190 [OOC] We’re all fine! And we saw some cool stuff anyway, like an alpine Pinguicula (carnivorous plant) in full flower. If you ever want to go I recommend Shika mountain, it’s an easy downhill hike down the boardwalk from the summit and you can see many beautiful flowers.
[OOC] Glad to hear you guys are fine and the alpine pinguicula you mentioned gives me and idea for the next flower after the tiger lily one
So pretty~ They’re not my colors, but I’ve always had an appreciation for that kind of palette…
waow.... so romantic :')
